Model requirement 6.3.2
Evaluation judgements
What ISO 37004:2023 asks at 6.3.2, in our own words, and how it reads inside a controlled group. The draft's public contents heading for it is 6.3 Governance maturity calculation.
What the model asks
Each result expresses a judgement of how far a maturity aspect has been achieved for the dimension being evaluated. A dimension's result is the lowest numbered level among the aspects evaluated for it, applying the level descriptions for each aspect given in Table 6.
What it means when one board controls another
The evaluation judgements are the ratings and their rationale. For a controlled group, each judgement should say whose governance it describes: the group's, the entity's, or both. A judgement that does not name its subject cannot be defended when two boards read it differently.
Evidence an evaluator asks for
A maturity rating is a claim about how the group governs. The evidence is what proves it operated. Keep both, and keep them together.
- Evaluation judgements: Judgement records showing the per-aspect levels and the minimum taken as the dimension result
Where evaluations commonly find gaps
- Dimension result taken as the average or the highest aspect rather than the lowest
How this requirement enters the rating
This unit belongs to the evaluation and improvement sequence. Record the decision it produces, the owner and the date, and keep it with the ratings it explains.
It carries 1 evidence item and 1 common gap in the model. One item is enough only if it is the artefact that proves the practice operated, not a policy that says it should. The group application on this page is ours; the requirement and evidence are the model's, stated in our own words.
