Method
How the record is built
One reviewed record drives the pages, the free check and the kit. The requirements and evidence are exported from ISO 37004:2023; the group application and all page copy are our own words; the draft's public material is dated from ISO's own record and free preview. This page explains the choices and the limits.
One record, every output
The record is a JSON file with the 35 model requirements, the 21 terms, the draft's public contents, the three aspects, the five activities, the six levels, the 18 dimensions, the publication record, the sources and the free-check rules. The pages are rendered from it, the kit is exported from it, and the check reads the same rules. If the record changes, every output changes with it in the same pass.
Each requirement row carries a source line: the ISO 37004:2023 clause and the link to the official text, plus the draft heading it sits under. Nothing on a requirement page is written from a search snippet or from memory.
What is public and what is not
The public source is the ISO record and the free OBP preview: the stage, the dates, the edition, the abstract, the foreword, the introduction, the scope, the normative references, the terms and the full contents list. The second source is ISO 37004:2023, the published organizational governance maturity model the draft applies to controlled groups. ISO 37000:2021 supplies the principles and conditions the model measures.
The draft body from clause 4 onwards is not public. This site does not paraphrase it, does not quote it and does not present the model as if it were the draft. The requirement pages say which source each line comes from, and the clause pages say where the preview stops.
How the free check decides
The check is a deterministic reading of seven answers. It applies the draft's definition first: two or more entities, one controlling member stakeholder with ultimate control of their governing bodies, and a group purpose set by that controller. If the control answer is no the verdict is out of scope; if it is unsure, or the role is unsure, the verdict is conditional and names the fact to confirm. If the definition is met, four answers are scored from 0 to 2 and the score places the group at ready to formalise, prepare or start now. A missing or past date returns scope incomplete and names the missing answer. The rule is printed in full under the result.
Nothing is assumed and nothing is sent to a server. A verdict is a statement about the boundary and the instrument, not about the quality of the group's governance.
What the method cannot do
- It cannot state the ISO/DIS 37014 body from clause 4 onwards: the draft is not public there, and no clause is quoted or paraphrased as if it were.
- It cannot decide the appropriate level for a group: that is the governing body's judgement, and the model says so.
- It cannot replace ISO 37004:2023, ISO 37000:2021 or the published draft.
- It cannot keep a record current between updates without the change watch or a manual check of the ISO page.
