What this part of the draft does

The scope confirms the subject: a controlled group of organizational entities, as defined in clause 3. The guidance is for assessing and strengthening the maturity of governance in that group, drawing on ISO 37000 for the principles and ISO 37004 for the maturity model. It applies to every controlled entity whatever its sector, scale or operating context.

What it means when you apply it

The scope does not extend to a group of organizations in the broader sense where no member controls another's governing body. That exclusion is the first test in the free check. The guidance is also not a certification scheme and does not set requirements that a body can be assessed against by a third party.
