ISO/DIS 37014, 6
Governance maturity model
The draft's public contents entry 6, with what it does, what it means for a controlled group and what to keep. This page is our statement of the public structure and the model, not the draft's text.
What this part of the draft does
Clause 6 assembles the model. The dimensions are the governance conditions and the governance principles; each is rated on the three aspects; the ratings are combined into a maturity level; the group decides what level is appropriate; and improvement targets follow. The clause closes with evaluation and reporting.
What it means when you apply it
The separation between the level found and the level that is appropriate is the most useful idea in the model. A group can be at level 2 and decide that level 2 is appropriate for a small dormant entity, while a regulated bank in the same group should be at level 4. Reporting both is what makes the result honest.
The clause reference is the draft's public contents heading. From clause 4 onwards the body is not in the free preview, so this page states the public heading, the model it draws on and our own reading, and does not present the draft's text.
What to keep beside the evaluation
The completed evaluation: dimensions, aspect ratings, consolidated levels, appropriate levels, targets, priorities and the report to stakeholders.
- The clause reference and the edition you read, so a later reader can check it.
- The decision it supports, with an owner and a date.
- The link to the requirement rows it frames, so the clause is not an orphan page in the file.
